8 Useful Gadgets for Travelers

As we are people who are on-the-go, some travel friendly gadgets really goes a long way in making our trip easier.

Here are a list of gadgets we personally recommend for your next trip to just about anywhere in the world:

1. Grid-it Organization System [Ranges from $9.99-$49.99]

This awesome gadget organization system helps you get the clutter out of your suitcase or backpack. As stated on their official website, it is "a unique weave of rubberized elastic straps made specifically to hold your personal effects firmly in place." It helps you organize all your cords, chargers, headphones, and other electronic tools you may need on your trip, making it easy to find the tool of your choice!

2. Universal Plug Adapter [Ranges from $1.50-$10.00]

Bringing a plug adapter is a no brainer for the travel-savvy, but just in case you forget when you pack, we are here to remind you. An universal plug adapter is definitely a given when you travel abroad as foreign countries use different types of electrical outlets and power supply that must be converted to function with your device. These plug adapters are usually very cheap and affordable when you purchase them on sites such as eBay or Amazon.

3. A Camera/ Camcorder (or both) & memory sticks [Consecutively: $449.99, $1,999.99, ranges from $15.00-above, depending on memory size]

If you are an avid point and shoot camera user like myself, the Canon S120 will help you capture your travel memories without the bulk of a DSLR. The size of the S120 allows you to quickly pocket or retrieve your camera, enabling you to capture precious moments within seconds. This could also make you look less like a tourist, which reduces your chances of becoming a victim of pickpockets especially while traveling in European countries. Tip: remember to bring extra memory sticks!

If you prefer filming rather than taking photos, the Sony FDR-AX100 4K Handycam Camcorder is one of the best in the market this year. This camcorder is also known as the world's first handheld consumer camcorder that shoots in 4K, which means it will reveal even more realistic details in 4 times the resolution of HD when shown on Vimeo or a top of the line 50 plus inch TV.

4. Western Digital My Passport Ultra 2TB [USD $120  on Amazon]

Why would you need to bring a portable hard drive when you travel? For the business man, a portable hard drive with storage size as large as 2TB means he could copy all files necessary and bring it on the go for any client or board meetings. For the leisure traveler, this means you could move photos from your camera/camcorder to the hard drive to free up more space for future shooting. This particular hard drive is reliable and about the size of your passport (hence the name).

5. iPads, iPhone, & iPod [Ranges from USD$229 up to $929]

Be it an entertainment, communication, life-saver, or GPS device, you won't go wrong traveling with your iPhone and iPad in a foreign country. No worry of getting lost in translation when you are in a foreign country with these Apple products handy. The iPod is perfect for the long plane rides for music or games on the go.

6. Innergie PocketCell Duo [USD $89.99]

This is known as the world's smallest 6800 mAh rechargeable portable battery in its class, which means it will be light enough to carry everyday while keeping your USB charged gadgets fully juiced all day. We picked the Duo as it could charge 2 items at once, and is capable of fully charging a smartphone up to 4 times on a single charge or a tablet once.

7. Bose QuietComfort 20 [USD$299.99]

Bose QuietComfort 20 is currently the best noise-cancelling compact in-ear headphones in the market, as it is highly comfortable and offers impressive noise cancellation. For those who want to spend a bit less, these USD $45 Sony MDRNC13 Noise-Cancelling Headphones would work almost as well.

 8. Sekonix DLP Pico Keychain Projector [USD $199.99]

Here's a gadget that is mind blowing: a projector that is about the size of a tea sandwich and can fit perfectly fine in your pocket or handbag. Who wouldn't want to have this while traveling? This is the perfect gadget for a businessman on the go on business trips. It is also perfect for when you are kicking back and relaxing at your hotel room. Just plug it into your laptop, smartphone, or tablet and you can watch movies in no time.
